Sandbox 2nd Geekery & Hobby Market

So you would like to sell your pre-loved nerdy items? Awesome news, we can help with that!

We are running another 2nd Hand Market and offer to sell your items for a 10% commission fee which will go into supporting Sandbox in the future. You can drop off your items on the day before and we will do the rest!

How it works:

  • Gather your pre-loved nerdy things that you want to sell (for example: comics, fantasy & sci fi books, DVDs, console/ computer games, fandom regalia, shirts, miniatures, board/card games, fandom toys, Lego, LARP items, cosplay things)
  • Make sure that they are clean and complete (if they are incomplete, please state missing items and stick it on the item with a note)
  • If you want to sell a series or things in parts, please make sure to box/ bag them up in a way that makes them easy to re-sell as one item
  • Put a sticker on every item that you want to sell (If you want to sell a series as one item, use one sticker for the whole set).
  • The sticker should include:  your initials, a number (consecutive), asking price (this will include the 10% commission).
  • Fill out this itemised sheet, tick/accept the terms and conditions and send us a copy to [email protected]. Please also bring a copy with you on drop off. The sheet includes example items, get in touch if you have further questions.
  • Drop the items off on the day before the event, Friday 28th November, to be arranged with Matt.
  • We will aim to sell them for you. Sales are cash only.
  • Pick up the items/ the money at the end of event day, Saturday 29th November, by 4.30pm OR Sunday 30th by 2pm at the latest. Everything that’s not picked up at by then will be donated to charity.

If you have any questions, please get in touch beforehand!

Tips on Pricing

We are happy to offer some advice on pricing (just send an email to [email protected]) as well if you don’t know what a reasonable price range could be. We would like you to be happy and get sales, and at a reasonable price all round.

One rule of thumb we’ve found useful is: don’t convert any overseas prices you might have seen into NZD, but to swap that price straight over. ie: if something is worth $15 USD then selling it at $15 NZD  – this will often get a sale, rather than trying to sell it for the exchange rate of $25 NZD.
